I find it very interesting that no other press other than The Community Milwaukee Journal (Black Press) chose to cover this story of a Black Man who walks from Florida to Washington, D.C. (1100 miles) to bring attention to the issue of the education of Black children. Other communities get full mainstream coverage of adults taking charter buses to Tallahassee (approximately 440 miles) to stand in front of our Capital. Sadly some Black parents will not walk around the corner to a PTA meeting. Amefika walked to D.C. This is first a Black man who loves his community, understands the importance of education for Black children, and sojourned this distance to make a statement of factual historical inclusion. The Black Community should not wait for others to celebrate Amefika Journey. He did this for our children and for their future.
