Why is it so difficult to get Black Men involved with the movement to help Black boys, and the movement to help save the Black community?

I don't believe the hype that Black men are so busy, or that they are all in jail, or that they are just trying to survive, as reasons why they are not involved with providing solutions to the many social ills that plague the Black community. Why is it so difficult to get Black Men involved with the movement to help Black boys, and the movement to help save the Black community?

I watched a BET special last night entitled Heart of the City -Chicago War on Violence. This documentary was about teen deaths related to violence and guns. These are some of the beliefs of the young people in Chicago:

Guns, you going to school or hussle
Don't believe I have choices
We just out here
It's about disrespect and money
Don't expect to live past 25
After fighting there is going to be gun play

This is not just the mindset of teens in Chicago, it is the mindset of many urban youth in cities across America.

What must we do, to to change the mindset of our teen youth?
